Founder of GDS, Mike Buckley started the Advanced Development Program in 2008. ADP is designed for the elite goalie to develop their game to achieve their highest goals. In 2013 the ADP went on hold as Mike Buckley became the Pittsburgh Penguins goaltending coach and director of development. In that time, the Penguins won 2 Stanley Cups with Matt Murray and Marc-Andre Fleury. Tristan Jarry was named an NHL all-star, and the Wilkes-Barre Penguins of the AHL had four straight All-Star goalies, something never done before in AHL history. One of those goalies was Casey Desmith, also a ADP student. Now, GDS goalies get to learn from all the experience coach Buckley has gained since ADP was on hold. If you thought it was great before, we can't wait to see where we go now! ADP accepts 12-15 goalies per year who fit the model and are will do put the dedicated time and effort into the program. We are now accepting inquiries for the 2023/24 season. Please inquire below.
